Last Day of Vacation

First thing - on a weird note - for whatever reason Blogger.Com has given my last 2 posting the wrong dates. When I posted yesterday it listed the date as 31 March and then when I posted this morning it listed the date as 1 April. I don't know why! Today is our last full day of our trip. We have journeyed back from Tusayan, AZ at the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon to Las Vegas. The trip took about 4 hours of steady driving. We stopped in Kingman for some lunch and then got caught up in the traffic around the construction zones on Route 93 near Hoover Dam. We got to Las Vegas around 1:30PM and got checked into our hotel - The Luxor. Zack wasn't thrilled with my choice at first, but when he got inside and saw that we were in a huge pyramid, his opinion somewhat changed!

We spent the afternoon exploring a bunch of casinos and attractions on the Strip that we didn't see over the weekend. We went up to the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris Casino. We also explored all the shops and attractions between the Luxor and the Bellagio.

(Yeah Zack, I know we were supposed to be seeing the real one of these over spring break.) This evening we went back to Paris and had dinner at La Provenchal restaurant. It was probably the most expensive meal we have had on our trip - but it was worth it. After that we headed over to the Bellagio to see the fountain show, only to learn that it was cancelled again because of the wind. So we will leave Las Vegas without having seen the fountains. Needless to say, Zack was not happy about that.

We are now back in our hotel room winding down for the evening. I will make sure we have everything packed up tonight as we need to head to the airport around 7:00AM.
And if anyone is wondering - no I did not bet one single, solitary cent while I was here in Vegas. So I leave this city without having to figure out whether or not I am up or down! And no - there are no stories that will stay in Vegas! I don't know, Zack might have few but I have none.
There are a lot of things I want to write about from the trip. I have found a ton of writing fodder from our journey. My mind has been in overdrive contemplating many different aspects of my life - some pleasant, some not so pleasant. Regardless of the tone - there is a ton to write!
I want to spend one post writing about our hike into the canyon. It was a wonderful hike and gave Zack and me a great appreciation for the beauty and rugged nature of the Canyon. As a result of this hike, I have added another "to-do" to the life list - hike from the South Rim of the Canyon the whole way to the North Rim. I have heard how difficult the hike is and I can certainly appreciate the effort required to do it. The sense of accomplishment in making a hike like this would be amazing!
Anyway - I hope everyone has had a great day!
Thanks and peace to all!
